Ten sentenced of digital abuse targeting Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has ruled against ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced charges of circulating fabrications regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the husband and wife's significant age difference.
The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of as much as eight months to the convicted individuals. The detailed judgment has not yet been published.
A persistent unfounded claim claiming that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has spread widely since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France coincides with the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their legal filing states that Owens disregarded all credible evidence contradicting her allegations choosing instead to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has frequently reiterated these allegations on her podcast and online platforms, and in March 2024 stated that she would bet her whole career on her belief that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron initially encountered her now-husband when she taught at his lycée.
The two entered into matrimony in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
